A comprehensive win in the final of the Cadet Girls’ Team event for Chinese Taipei, the top seeds and favourites for gold but they were not able complete the double at the 2016 Jordan Junior and Cadet Open in Amman on Thursday 28th July.

Likewise the top seeds; they had to settle for runners up spot in the Junior Girls’ Team competition.

Comprehensive Win
Chien Tung-Chuan and Tsai Yu-Chin displayed no charity in the final of the Cadet Girls’ Team event, when facing the second seeded Egypt ‘B’ Team duo of Hana Mahmoud and Sarah Swaify.

Impressively a three matches to nil win was recorded. Tsai Yu-Chin beat Hana Mahmoud (11-6, 11-8, 11-4), before Chien Tung-Chien overcame Sarah Swaify (11-7, 11-8, 11-1) and an equally imposing doubles success was recorded by Chien Tung-Chuan and Tsai Yu-Chin to end matters (11-4, 11-2, 11-2).

Every Match Five Games
The concluding fixture to decide the winner of the Junior Girls’ Team title was a much different affair with Thailand’s Cathareeya Poungsri and Jinnipa Sawettabut, the second seeds, overcoming the top seeded Chinese Taipei dup of Fang Sih-Han and Kuo Chia-Yun by three matches to nil, in a fixture that witnessed every match being decided in five games.

Star of the show for Thailand was Jinnipa Sawettabut. In the opening match of the fixture she beat Fang Sih-Han, the winner two days earlier of the Junior Girls’ Singles title (4-11, 13-11, 12-10, 7-11, 11-6), before in the vital fifth and deciding match of the fixture overcoming Kuo Chia-Yun (11-9, 11-9, 8-11, 6-11, 11-7).

Vital Doubles
Furthermore, in the third contest of the engagement, she partnered Cathereeya Poungsri to a vital nail-biting doubles success (11-8, 5-11, 8-11, 11-8, 13-11).

The wins for Chinese Taipei were both secured at the hands of cathereeya Poungsri; she was beaten Kuo Chia-Yun (7-11, 6-11, 11-7, 11-5, 11-5) and by Fang Sih-Han (11-7, 11-7, 8-11, 10-12, 11-6).
