Successful on Home Soil, Egyptian Eyes Focus on Agadir

Winners on home soil in Cairo in late January 2015, Egyptís Omar Assar and Dina Meshref will have an opportunity to defend their titles in Agadir in just under three monthsí time.

The Moroccan city, situated on the banks of the Atlantic Ocean will be the home for the 2016 ITTF-Africa Senior Championships; play will commence on Monday 24th October and will conclude on Sunday 30th October.

Venue for the tournament is the Enbeath Complex with El Hajji Monqid, the President of the Royal Morocco Table Tennis Federation being the Tournament Director.

Once again as some 18 months ago in Cairo, the seven major events will be staged; Menís Team, Womenís Team, Menís Singles, Womenís Singles, Menís Doubles, Womenís Doubles and Mixed Doubles.

Additionally events for Over 40 Years, Over 50 Years and Over 60 years are planned.

Notably both the Menís Team and Womenís Team events will adopt the system used at the World Championships.

Prize Fund
Overall, a total of US$ 8,000 is on offer; the winner of each of the Menís Singles and Womenís Singles events, collects US$ 1,500.

Deadline Dates
Preliminary entries must be returned by Friday 30th September, final entries by Friday 14th October with the deadline for changes being Sunday 23rd October.
